Abstract: The most prestigious of ail the prizes offered by the CHA, the FRANÇOIS-XAVIER GARNEAU MEDAL, was awarded in Victoria at the CHA annual general meeting to John M. Beattie for his book Crime and the Courts in England 1660-1800 (Princeton University Press, 1986).
