Title: History and the British Columbia Institute for co-operatives studies
Issue Date: 2020-01-29
Publisher: Canadian Historical Association / Société historique du Canada
Series/Report no.: Vol 28 numéro 1;
Abstract: During the last decade numerous new national histories have appeared, each reflecting the broadening interests of Canadian historians in the last forty years. Some curious lacunae exist, however, one of which is the almost complete ignoring of Canada’s large co-operative movement. While Québec historians have been more inclusive of co-operative traditions in their national/provincial texts, the current crop of English-Canada historical synthesizers – brilliant as their work often is – have been no better than their predecessors.
