Abstract: On the 14th of November, 1990, the Treasury Board authorized the Department of Public Works to begin the process of selecting an architect to design the storage and conservation facility which will serve the National Archives through 2004. The decision authorized a total construction cost of $89 million and an additional $18 million over the next six years to enable the Archives to prepare for the moves and to operate a split facility.
